According to the announcement, with the approval of the State Council, starting from January 8, 2023, the measures for the prevention and control of Class A infectious diseases stipulated in the "Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases" for new coronavirus infection will be lifted; the new coronavirus infection will no longer Included in the management of quarantine infectious diseases stipulated in the Frontier Health and Quarantine Law of the People's Republic of China. This means that the new crown virus infection will be adjusted from "Class B and A tubes" to "Class B and B tubes".

The new crown virus infection "Class B and B Control" is a major adjustment of China's epidemic prevention and control policy. According to the relevant provisions of the Law on the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases, there are two types of Class A infectious diseases in China:

plague and cholera, and

the Class B infectious diseases managed with reference to Class A include SARS and pulmonary anthrax. The reduction of the management standard for the infection of the new coronavirus confirms that it is currently less harmful to the human body in terms of the system and procedures, and it is no longer necessary to adopt strict and meticulous Class A management measures for the prevention and control of infectious diseases.
